We will again have bad news about cPanel for you, 15 months later. cPanel, which announced on June 27, 2019 that it would switch its licensing system to an account-based pricing model
following its acquisition by the Oakley Capital group — causing price increases of 300-400% for some users — has now announced a brand new 75% price hike effective January 1, 2021.
Facing another outrageously high price increase decision just 15
months after the new account-based pricing system that shocked all companies worldwide offering hosting services using cPanel, we are at a loss for words as cPanel sent an email saying “We worked hard and we deserve this” — as if what they did was perfectly
normal.
In the new cPanel pricing, the 75% increase is applied to the additional account limit, while packages also see a much smaller but still notable price increase. The new prices that will apply during the renewal period covering January 1,
2021, are as follows:
cPanel Admin Cloud
Old Price: $12.50 USD + VAT
New Price: $13.50 USD + VAT
cPanel Pro Cloud
Old Price: $17.50 USD + VAT
New
Price: $19.00 USD + VAT
cPanel Plus Cloud
Old Price: $25.00 USD + VAT
New Price: $27.50 USD + VAT
cPanel Premier Cloud/Metal
Old Price: $32.00 USD + VAT
New
Price: $34.50 USD + VAT
Per Additional Account Fee
Old Price: $0.12 USD + VAT
New Price: $0.21 USD + VAT
While we regretfully inform you of this outrageous price increase — against which we, of
course, have no way to object — we would like to remind you once again, 15 months later, that cPanel/WHM software is not without alternatives and that no one is obligated to bear the increasing license costs in this process. You can contact your account representative
for information about alternative server management software.
After all this bad news, we would like to share some good news. Following cPanel’s announcement on June 27, 2019 of a switch to an account-based pricing system, in November 2019 we began developing
a new control panel that can meet all your fundamental control panel needs. Our fully domestic control panel, which will have no external dependencies, continues to be developed, and we would also like to announce that the MVP version will be offered free of charge
until the 100th Anniversary of our Republic. To stay informed about Netinternet’s new control panel project, you can visit www.whcpanel.com and follow their social media accounts.
Respectfully.
