Technical support staff to serve our customers in hosting services and related topics as a technical support specialist at our company operating on a 7/24/365 basis.

Required Qualifications

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Yusuf Makal, one of the founding partners of Netinternet, who passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment on April 3, 2016.

Born in Burdur in 1953, Yusuf Makal served as a Technical Expert at Turkish Telecom between 1979 and 2004, and founded Netinternet in 2006. Yusuf Makal, who served as CFO at our company Netinternet from 2006 until today, had a great share in bringing our company to where it is today.

I will briefly explain what RSYNC is, its usability and areas of use at an entry level. I will continue providing more information about RSYNC with more advanced explanations in later articles.

RSYNC is an indispensable copying system especially in cluster machines. Rather than just copying, you can also use RSYNC as an update software. For example, let X and Y be two servers. We copy the /home directory from server X to server Y using RSYNC. A total of 10GB of data is copied. After 1 day, we copy files from server X to server Y again, and in the 2nd copy, we ensure that only files whose size, format, or date have changed during the 1-day period are copied. This time, only 400MB is transferred from server X to server Y. This gives us a huge bandwidth saving.

RSYNC can use transparent shells like rsh or ssh. It does not require root privileges and can transfer files to another location without changing ownership, group, or permissions (chmod values). By compressing data during file transfer, the transfer speed is much faster than normal transfer.

Each time you run the last command, it will only copy changed files. This provides a great time saving and reduces traffic between servers on different networks.

I have prepared an entry-level document about performing RAR operations via SSH. To perform RAR operations, we first need to install the relevant RPM files on our server.

We need to choose the RPM file according to the server operating system. To check the OS via SSH, type uname -i.

If the rar file is password-protected during extraction, it will ask for the password without needing any additional parameter.

All new users will be contacted and verified by our call center operators during business hours. Customers will be grouped into 3 categories: Standard, Gold, and Platinum. You will be able to learn your customer group from your customer panel shortly. Our purpose in creating customer groups is to provide priority in certain service and support processes for services belonging to critical facilities and institutions.

Transition to New PBX System

For your security, we now verify your identity with a robot operator. Customers will be able to reach our call center by entering their customer number, tax identification number or Turkish ID number, and the PIN (Phone Password) set on the customer panel. Since the transition to the system will be made in the near future, existing customers are required to create a PIN (Phone Password) on their customer panels as soon as possible.

Call Center Unit

With the new call center unit, you can reach us by phone Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 23:00 and on weekends from 08:00 to 17:30.

Mandatory Transition to E-Archive, E-Invoice System

Our company, which will transition to the E-Archive, E-Invoice system within November, will eliminate paper and envelope consumption and the processes of physically storing and archiving issued invoices. With the transition to the E-Archive, E-Invoice system, accounting processes will be managed by automation systems, and users with Verified Account status will no longer be able to change their customer information. Customers who want to update their information will need to contact us. Tax number and TC number will not be changeable, and in such cases, users will be required to open new accounts.

Is your site opening sometimes and not others? Can’t find the reason? If so, it would be beneficial to read what we write here. After researching support tickets sent to the help desk, we noticed that most questions people ask are about nameservers, TTL periods, and DNS-related issues, and we decided to prepare a document about this topic in a way everyone can understand.

When you transfer your websites from one server to another, or when you change the IP address of the site on the same server without moving it, you will experience access issues for a certain period. If you don’t know the technical reason for this, don’t worry — actually only you are unable to access the site at that moment :)

DNS (Domain Name System) servers determine which server IP address domain names will go to. Thanks to DNS, for example, you can get the IPv4 equivalent of the ni.net.tr address and access this site. Your computer needs to connect to DNS servers to resolve the IP information of the ni.net.tr address.

When your computer resolves the ni.net.tr address, it records some information related to ni.net.tr when it connects to the DNS service of ni.net.tr. Among this information are also the TTL periods that cause you not being able to access your site for a certain period when you change the IP address.

If you are a Windows user, typing ipconfig /displaydns in the command prompt will show you what information you received from which DNS server. The TTL period we talk about is the “Time to Live” field. If your site’s TTL period is 604800, when an example user tries to enter your site, they receive this TTL period along with the records. For 604800 seconds (7 days), this user will not request information from the DNS server again when accessing your site.

When you change your site’s IP address, the example user cannot access your site because the TTL period saved in their computer’s DNS cache has not expired. Until the TTL expires, the user tries to open the site from the old IP address. However, this problem only applies to this example user. Another user who has never visited your site before can access the new IP on their first visit.

When you encounter such a problem, it helps to clear the DNS cache. You can clear the DNS resolver cache with:

ipconfig /flushdns

If you still cannot access despite all this, you can check the following sites to see if your site is accessible:

http://anonymouse.org

http://host-tracker.com/

If you have a high-traffic website and need to change your IP address, you can shorten your TTL periods before making the change to minimize downtime, wait for the old TTL period to expire, and then make the change. After the operation is complete, it is beneficial to restore this period to its original value to avoid putting too much load on your DNS service.

After a long period of consideration and evaluation, we have decided to remove our support for Microsoft products as of January 1, 2017. This decision stems from certain commercial reasons and has been made because it is not in line with our company’s future vision and mission.

In this process, the sale of services related to Microsoft products at the web hosting level will be stopped, and users currently receiving service will not be affected. Only new orders will not be accepted.

Users benefiting from licensing services at the Data Center solutions level can continue to rent and purchase Microsoft products on our hardware under SPLA.
