When a new account is created on WHM Panel, standard DNS records for that account are automatically created by the panel. If we want to add, edit, or delete a different record, we use the “DNS Functions” section. In the image below, you can see the DNS records of a newly created account.

Add a DNS Zone
We may have experienced a DNS issue with our account or may need to delete and recreate the DNS record. In such cases, the “Add a DNS Zone” section is used. The domain for which the DNS record will be created is selected from the “Account Selection” section. When you select a domain, you can see information such as the IP address and username on the right side. After filling in the IP and domain fields at the top according to the information on the right, clicking “Add Zone” will recreate the DNS record for our account.

Edit DNS Zone
We can add new records to our standard DNS record. To do this, we use the “Edit DNS Zone” section under “DNS Functions”. We select the account to which we will add records and click edit.

In the image, I added 3 records as an example. By adding these records, we will redirect our mail infrastructure to Yandex and our A record to the IP address 159.253.43.30. The A record and MX record are automatically created when the account is created, but to add different records instead of using these, the existing records must first be deleted. Additionally, multiple records can also be added without deleting existing ones. This varies entirely depending on the company you are redirecting to. I cancelled the one in the red-bordered area at the top by marking it as select. We can enter as many records as we want from the bottom according to the records we will redirect. Each record we create has its own specific rules; for example, when I want to redirect MX records to a different company, “Remote Mail Exchanger” must be selected from the “Email Routing for” section.
DNS Zone Removal
This is the section where you delete the DNS record of your account. When you select the relevant account and click “Delete”, the DNS record will be deleted.

Reset a DNS Zone
Errors may occur in our account DNS records; to fix these errors, we need to reset our DNS record. Resetting the DNS record does not mean deleting the records; it simply rebuilds and restores them.
